Online Psychiatric Consultations across Pakistan

Secure video consultations with a PMDC-verified psychiatrist for patients anywhere in Pakistan and overseas, with the same assessment and care as a clinic visit.

Traffic, distance, demanding work or living outside Karachi can make it difficult to attend a clinic. Dr. Saira Farhan offers online psychiatric consultations from Karachi for adults and, when clinically appropriate, adolescents across Pakistan. Live video appointments may be used for psychiatric assessment, psychotherapy, follow-up care or medication review when remote care is suitable.

What is an online psychiatric consultation?

Unlike general online consultations with doctors, an online psychiatric consultation focuses specifically on mental health. It is a live, two-way conversation rather than an automated questionnaire. You can describe your symptoms and circumstances, ask questions and discuss a personalised treatment plan with a qualified psychiatrist.

Dr. Saira Farhan is an FCPS-qualified psychiatrist and trained psychotherapist. This means an appointment can consider diagnosis, psychological treatment and medication where appropriate, rather than assuming that every concern needs a prescription.

Who may benefit from online consultations?

An online psychiatrist appointment may be suitable for:

  • People outside Karachi who have limited access to a psychiatrist
  • Karachi residents who find traffic, work or caregiving responsibilities difficult
  • Existing patients who need psychiatric follow-up or medication monitoring
  • People whose anxiety, low mood or physical health makes travelling harder
  • Patients who prefer a discreet appointment from a private location
  • Pakistanis and South Asians living abroad who want culturally informed care

Online care is considered individually. Some symptoms, ages and circumstances are better assessed face to face.

How a virtual psychiatric consultation works

  1. Message WhatsApp with your city or country and preferred appointment time.
  2. The fee, time and payment details are confirmed before the session.
  3. You receive a video link and join from a private space using a phone, tablet or computer with a stable connection.
  4. Keep your current medicines, previous prescriptions and relevant reports nearby.

During the appointment, Dr. Saira Farhan asks about your symptoms, health, sleep, work, relationships and relevant history. You can speak in Urdu, English or a natural mixture of both. The session ends with an explanation and recommended next steps, which may include psychotherapy, medication, tests, follow-up or in-person care.

Private online consultations

Clinical information is handled confidentially, subject to safety, safeguarding and legal responsibilities. For better privacy, use a quiet room and headphones, and make sure other people cannot overhear you. Online privacy also depends on your device, connection and surroundings, so no home setting should automatically be assumed to be private.

Prescriptions and when in-person care is needed

Medication may be discussed when clinically appropriate, but a prescription is not guaranteed. Some medicines, physical checks, blood tests or monitoring may require an in-person appointment or help from a locally licensed doctor.

Online consultations are not suitable for every situation. Severe illness, acute psychosis, immediate danger, serious self-harm risk or a need for hospital care requires urgent local assessment. WhatsApp and routine online appointments are not emergency services.

Online appointments for Pakistanis and South Asians abroad

Dr. Saira Farhan’s experience in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, together with experience supporting patients from the UK, United States, the Netherlands and other parts of Europe and the Gulf, helps her understand migration, family expectations and cultural concerns.

South Asians living in the UK, United States, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands or the Middle East may enquire about an appointment. Availability depends on your physical location, clinical needs and applicable professional rules. Prescriptions issued in Pakistan may not be accepted abroad, so medication may need to be coordinated with a locally licensed doctor.

Patients living outside Pakistan may also find Care for Overseas Pakistanis useful. If you have not been assessed before, Psychiatric Evaluation explains what a first appointment covers.

Fees and booking

An online consultation costs Rs. 6,000 and usually lasts 25 to 30 minutes. To book, message WhatsApp at +92 321 5588832 with your city or country and preferred time.

Frequently asked questions

Often, yes. Many non-urgent concerns can be assessed initially by video. An in-person assessment may be recommended when a physical examination, tests, closer observation or urgent safety support is needed.

Medication may be prescribed after an appropriate assessment when clinically suitable and permitted. Some medicines require in-person review or monitoring. Patients abroad may need a local doctor or pharmacist to review recommendations under local rules.

Clinical information is treated confidentially, subject to safety and legal responsibilities. Join from a private room, use headphones and protect access to your device. Privacy cannot be guaranteed if other people can hear or view the session.

Overseas Pakistanis may enquire, but availability is not automatic in every country or US state. It depends on where you are physically located, the type of care required and the professional rules that apply there.
